The Los Angeles Philharmonic announced it appointed Kim Noltemy as its new President and CEO effective July 8. Noltemy brings over 25 years of leadership experience in American symphonies — most recently the Dallas Symphony — and will oversee the strategic direction and operations of the LA Phil, Disney Hall, and the Hollywood Bowl.

  • Continued Innovation and Access: With Noltemy’s appointment, the LA Philharmonic is poised to continue its legacy of innovation and excellence, while prioritizing accessibility and community engagement through initiatives like the Youth Orchestra Los Angeles (YOLA) program and partnerships across Los Angeles County.
  • Critical Timing: The announcement comes as LA Phil is seeking its next music director, with current music director Gustavo Dudamel departing for the New York Philharmonic at the close of the 2025-’26 season. Noltemy will play a crucial role in attracting a top international conductor.
  • Diversity and Inclusion: Noltemy’s track record in diversifying programming and expanding opportunities for BIPOC and women musicians, composers, and staff signals a commitment to advancing equity and inclusion within the organization and the broader classical music industry.
