Apple Music Classical unveiled a new Top 100 chart highlighting the most-streamed albums on the service.
Ranking number one on the inaugural Top 100 chart is Chinese pianist Tianqi Du’s album of Bach keyboard concertos with the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields conducted by Jonathan Bloxham. A second Chinese pianist, Bruce Liu, ranks fifth with his album of works by Satie, “Waves.”
Also in the top 5 are conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin’s new cycle of Brahms symphonies with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe; guitarist Plínio Fernandes’s album of film score arrangements, “Cinema”; and the Vienna Philharmonic’s Summer Night Concert 2024 led by Andris Nelsons, ranked two through four, respectively.
